BrokenLore Don't Watch is a first-person psychological horror game set in a Tokyo flat. Shinji, the protagonist, is withdrawn and anxious, feeling helpless.
Slow, limited gameplay emphasises observation, modest interactions, and environmental storytelling. Players read warped emails, receive enigmatic video files, and surf corrupted websites that react to progress on Shinji's laptop. There are no typical objectives; players must respond to tiny environmental changes and decipher fragments.
The visual style is muted, almost greyscale, with bright, purposeful flashes of color—red being the most striking. Pacing is affected by visual distortion as the flat gradually changes with each cycle. Lighting is unpredictable, and static overlays merge into the environment to generate layered perception. Hearing only distant murmuring, buzzing electronics, and the occasional mechanical shriek heightens the impression of isolation. There is no soundtrack—only noise and silence.
BrokenLore Don't Watch isn't just a monster or haunted house game. It examines mental breakdown, solitude, and internal pressures.
