About Alone Again

Alone Again is a first-person horror game that is scarier in silence than it is in cries. The spooky countryside is a suspense maze of unknown hazards that are just waiting to stalk your every step.

How to play Alone Again

Alone Again begins with the player alone and deserted in a remote rural neighbourhood tormented by bizarre nighttime creatures. The exploration is slow. Dim lanterns reveal tight roads and decaying dwellings. Every sound echoes in the empty air, aligning your heartbeat with the suspense that waits around every turn. The game also features a huge part of stealth outside of exploring, as the main character has no weapon to fight against the horrors wandering in the dark.

As hints are dropped as to what these animals once were – perhaps the remains of villages or something older still – tension rises. Environmental storytelling as opposed to direct exposition allows for terror to build through discovery, not dialogue. The gameplay is all about immersion and the feeling of vulnerability, making each turn a horrifying puzzle of sound, movement and light.
