The independent horror game Captain Willie cleverly reimagines the popular Mickey Mouse character from "Steamboat Willie" scarily and darkly.
At first, the game seems innocent. Players take on the part of a deckhand on a haunted ship and are given simple tasks to do. As soon as the ship sets sail into the unknown, though, the mood quickly changes, leaving behind any traces of the happy, cartoon world we associate with Mickey Mouse.
The rules for Captain Willie are simple, but you have to be quick and pay attention to the little things. As a deckhand, it's your job to do regular tasks on the ship quickly. Every action on Captain Willie's ship, like cutting potatoes for the crew's meals, starting the fire to keep the ship warm, or cleaning the deck, helps it run smoothly.
