Mushroom Oasis: The Hidden Darkness Behind a Peaceful Façade

In Mushroom Oasis (by DeersphereStudios) you join a visual novel where romance, mystery and psychological terror melt into each other. The game doesn’t shock you with ugly monsters, it instills fear through manipulation, warped memories and a suffocating addiction.

The Story Begins

It starts with an apparently innocent quest for a pet. You follow the trail into the forest and find the cat's collar close to a strange circle of mushrooms. Your consciousness fades to black.

You wake up in a remote wooden hut, isolated from the outside world. Here you meet Mychael, a mysterious man who lives alone in the deep woods. From here a routine rescue mission becomes a psychological chess game where your trust is your deadliest vulnerability.

Core Mechanics: Survival Lies in Your Words

In Mushroom Oasis you don't battle with actual weapons. Your conversation is your sole weapon and protection.

Every option is important: Your answer determines how Mychael perceives you. Some choices just affect his present attitude, yet a tiny slip of the tongue can get you into a fatal finish.

The art of survival: You’re walking a tightrope, doing the dance between compliance and agreeability and subtle investigative maneuvering. You may bring out the dangerous dark side in Mychael if you pry too much and keep pressing for information regarding the forest or the cat.

Survival Guide for the First 3 Days

The current storyline takes you through the first three days with several branching pathways including four Bad Endings and a Neutral main story route. To live, beware:

Safety First above Curiosity: If you want the story to keep going, make choices that maintain the atmosphere peaceful.
Read the room: Don’t engage in discussion that is aggressive when the heat is going up.
Keep your story straight: Remember what you stated. You will pay dearly for any mistake or contradiction.
Save often: Get into the habit of saving before making any big decision so you can go back and try various avenues.
