Look for hints and think of ways to use the things you find. You can look at useful details about any item you've picked up, even if you dropped it before. To see the list of clues, tap the list button.
Use the arrow keys to move around the house and the mouse to look around. When this icon shows up on the screen, press E to interact with things. Get close to the things you want to use. Place the dot over an item and press "E" to pick it up. Press the drop button to put things where you want them to go.
Be careful, because things that fall often make noise. Stepping on a floorboard that creaks will do the same thing. Granny will start moving toward you as soon as she hears you. She will knock you out if she finds you. If you want to hide from her, crawl under the bed or close the door to one of the cabinets.
You can also use the cape that makes you invisible, but only once. For a short time, you can hide by tapping on the robe.
Granny is a magical being that can't be killed. But there are a few ways to stop Granny from moving so you can escape. Use things you already have at home. You can shoot her with a gun, stop her with a freeze trap, or hit her with a tranquilizer dart, among other things.
Depending on how hard the game is, each way will buy you some time. In Nightmare Mode and Extreme Mode, Granny's recovery time is shorter.
