Play one of Camp Crystal Lake's six counselors and save as many as possible from Jason's murderous spree in Friday the 13th. Find the cabin-hiding youngsters and defeat Jason.
The asymmetrical multiplayer Friday the 13th allows up to eight players at once. One player randomly controls Jason Voorhees, who must kill as many counselors as possible before time runs out. Jason can sense nearby counselors and temporarily teleport anywhere on the map. The remaining players control the counselors, who can shock Jason with firecrackers, bear traps, and map-located projectile and melee weapons.
The main goal of playing as a counselor is to escape the map alive, which can be done faster by completing the map's side objectives (which are easier to complete when coordinating with other players). Jason can also be defeated with a "epic win condition" that requires teamwork and planning and is difficult to perform. Tommy Jarvis can be controlled under particular conditions.
